Weather Tidbits
Welcome to Florida....where...
-it's possible to get a fine layer of African dust on your car....yes, dust that's floated in the sky all the way from Africa (this happened last week)
-included in forecasts is the phrase "random downpours"
-there's no reason to watch the weather forecast, save of course for the phrase 'watching the tropics' ...since everyday it's 93, humid, with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Seriously...nothing changes...at least from May-September.
-we rank #1 in the country for lightening strikes. I think my move about doubled my chances of getting struck by lightening.
-storms are kind of like an amoeba. I'm used to tracking lines of thunderstorms that generally move from west to east. Here they just pop up randomly and stay in one place. If you watch them on the radar they kind of swell in and out as they gain and lose strength.
-it actually snowed (in west palm) back in 1979 ...(so there's hope)
